First of all, welcome to CarolinaCichlids! Hopefully you'll find this board very useful as an informational tool, as well as a lot of fun. (Well, mostly just alot of fun!) There are a few rules that need to be followed to make this board as productive as possible. By posting on this board, you accept and agree to these TOS. If you don't agree, don't post.
1) Spam will NOT be tolerated. If you have something to sell, please post it in the Buy/Sell forum. That is the only place it will be allowed. Friendly banter amongst friends, also known as spam, is fine.
2) If you have a website of your own, feel free to post it in your signature as a normal sized link as long as it's non-profit. We're not hugely strict with this rule but try to use some common sense. This is a non-profit site and we don't expect others to try to make money from it without checking with an administrator before posting it.
3) Profanity will be allowed at a tolerable level. You should have enough sense to know what is OK and when it is OK. If your profanity is directed at another member in a way that is deemed non-joking by that member or an admin, you will be warned or banned dependent upon the circumstances. If you use discriminating slurs whether they be racially or sexually oriented, you will be banned no questions asked. See also Rule #4 below.
4) Discourteous behavior will also not be tolerated. If you can't say something nice, just don't post. Opinions are fine as long as they are just that. This rule goes both ways. Don't be rude because you don't like the advice you are given. What you see as rude and what we see are rude will most likely differ. If in doubt, contact an admin but don't be put off if we don't see eye to eye on the subject.
5) Linking to or quoting from copyrighted material is fine as long as you do not attempt to take credit for the work of someone else.
6) Pornography, in the open forums, WILL NOT be tolerated. Site banishment will be immediate as well as possible legal action. This is a moderately family-friendly site and will be treated as such!
7) Avatars are mandatory!
7A) Avatars containing full nudity or grossly obscene subject matter are not permitted. The administration can and will delete or edit any avatar at it's discretion.
9) We do not delete accounts at user request. If you post, you post knowing that all posts become the property of CC and will remain in the database until such time the administration, as a whole, should decide to remove them.
10) Protect your password! Being an idiot is not an excuse for someone else using your account. Allowing others to sign in under your name, with your permissions (whether intentional or not) is grounds for banishment. Protect your password!
These TOS will be amended or added to as seen fit by management for the benefit of the site and its members. Any violation of these TOS will be grounds for banishment from the site. These TOS will be enforced by the administrators in any way they see fit. The management reserves the right to deny service to anyone for any reason with no warning. Lets try to make this site as good as it can be! Every member is important and will be treated as such! If you have a question or comment about these TOS or any other aspect of the site feel free to email or pm an administrator or post it in the feedback section if it is a general question that concerns everyone.
